No screenshot visible. Does DeviceManager show a yellow or red warning? What folders?

It would likely be under Security Devices and HID folders.

Open Control Panel. Search 'restore point'. Click 'create a restore point'. If System Protection is turned on in the box that pops up, click the System Restore button. Click next. Do you see a restore point with a date time stamp about when the finger print reader stopped working?

You can try three things. First, enter the BIOS menu at boot time by tapping the F2 key. Press the F9 key to load BIOS defaults. Then F10 to save settings and exit. Then check finger print reader again.

If still unsuccessful, then shut  the machine off. Remove the charger. Then insert a paperclip into the reset pinhole on the bottom for about 30 seconds. Then plug the charger back in. Turn the machine on and check reader operation again.

If it still fails, then an ALT+F10 cold boot factory reset can rule in or rule out a hardware issue. First backup any personal files you have on the boot drive to a USB stick. Then shutdown Windows. Then turn the machine back on and immediately press and hold the ALT key while tapping the F10 key. A recovery screen should appear giving you an option to either refresh the machine while trying to save your  personal files or an erase everything factory reset. The latter option is best. After resetting you should immediately make sure that System Protection is turned on in Control Panel's restore point app. It's likely that an errant update caused the finger print reader issue and may have to be temporarily blocked.
