I am from India. My Acer predator is having some power issues. Service center guys told me that the motherboard is having an issue and will need to replace it.
The cost they told me is almost equal to the amount that I paid while buying it.

So, I wanna know how much does it really cost to replace the motherboard.

And do we need to replace graphic card and other components that are connected to the board as well.

Afraid so :( Pretty much the entire cost is in three compents, the screen, (a hundred tops or so), the ram (around the same) and the motherbaord (the rest of the cost). As the CPU, GPU and USB's along with every other "thing" is soldered on if anything fails from a tiny transistor to the GPU itself the entire thing needs replacing, which is out of warranty is super expensive.

Boards are a bit cheaper from third parties but not by much im afraid :( they say what had happened to the board?

They said that the component which is used to connect battery is bit damaged that is why it take 30-40 clicks on power button to turn it on.

First Vvaryan, what is the exact model of your laptop? As power issues can be fixed, a connector or certain chips replacements on a laptop are of minimal costs to replace by an experienced technician! As an experienced technician that has the skills and equipment to do micro soldering can diagnose your laptop and change appropriate components and fix your laptop at minimal costs.

Seeing that Acer has quoted you a huge price (that is equal to what you paid for your laptop) I would suggest that you look around your area or in India for an experienced technician that has expertise in dragonises and micro soldering of your laptop and who can fix your laptop, if you are stuck then you might have to disassemble you laptop and take the motherboard out to reduce shipping costs and then send it to an experienced technician in another country who can fix it and has extensive technical knowledge and can do micro soldering like Alex at NorthbridgeFix in California USA (see his channel as Alex is an expert in your type of problems, btw I've use him and he fixed a power problem for me) and who will probably fix your laptop. Get a quote and ask him first and work out the shipping costs and see if its cheaper than buying a new motherboard and if the costs are cheaper? Do your sums and act accordingly.
