Brand new machine running a program slow.. Upgraded to 2gig, still issue. Settings to change?

Hey there,

So I use my Acer primarily for automotive use. I have a program I run on it to diagnose VW/Audi's, and then I use a program that logs performance called ECUx. Regardless, the program captures live data of the engine, and it's been really choppy. The system requirements from the manufacturer of the program in question here (ECUx) are listed below.

  • System Requirements:
  • 750 MHz Processor or equivalent
  • Windows 2000 or XP
  • 128MB RAM minimum
  • 1024x768 resolution or better
  • USB Port

My netbook is the D255, Intel atom N450 processor, at 1.6ghz. Is that thing the culprit here? Everything else runs great, but since this program is so bare bones I figured the machine would be fine for it. I also just upgraded to 2gig of ram, it seems a bit better but still not where it should be in terms of how fast it is recording data.

Thanks!
