Hello there!

Could someone help me how can I control the brightness of the monitor with the Acer Display Widget? Brightness and Contrast aren't working, but I can modify RGB properly. If I turn the monitor into Factory Mode (by pressing Game mode + Power buttons before start), it will work properly, and I can control the brightness. But it won't work in normal mode.

I found this topic, this is literally same situation: https://community.acer.com/en/discussion/576132/xb271hu-brightness-control-over-ddc-ci-protocol
I think this issue is firmware-related, but I didn't find any useful informations about firmwares (like which is the newest version, changelog, or upgrade tools). Currently I have 20170116_0_2963_14. I'm using DisplayPort.

I tried to contact with the support, but they only give useless, canned answers, like hard reset, another cable, etc.

Has someone any ideas?

Thanks!

Before considering troubleshooting options, make sure your device is up to date. Select Start  > Settings  > Update & Security  > Windows Update , then select Check for updates. If you need help setting up your external monitors. If you are trying to set up an external monitor and it’s not working, press the Windows logo key  + P to make sure that the Extend option is selected. If the Extend option is selected, try the following troubleshooting tips.
Select action center  on the right side of the taskbar, and then move the Brightness slider to adjust the brightness. (If the slider isn't there, see the Notes section below.) Some PCs can let Windows automatically adjust screen brightness based on the current lighting conditions. To find out if your PC supports this, go to Settings > System > Display. Under Brightness and color, look for the Change brightness automatically when lighting changes check box, and then select it to use this feature. This automatic setting helps make sure your screen is readable wherever you go. Even if you use it, you can still move the Change brightness for the built-in display slider to fine-tune the brightness level.

    Notes:

    • You might not see the Change brightness for the built-in display slider on desktop PCs that have an external monitor. To change the brightness on an external monitor, use the buttons on it.
    • The Brightness slider appears in action center in Windows 10, version 1903. To find the brightness slider in earlier versions of Windows 10, select Settings > System > Display, and then move the Change brightness slider to adjust the brightness.
    • If you don't have a desktop PC and the slider doesn't appear or work, try updating the display driver. In the search box on the taskbar, type Device Manager, and then select Device Manager from the list of results. In Device Manager, select Display adapters, then select the display adapter. Press and hold (or right-click) the display adapter name, then select Update driver and follow the instructions.

if this dosen't work, just pLuG IT 0uT 4Nd B4kk. It's always working on any platform.

Additional info: brightness control works only if the "Burn In Pattern" is ON in the factory settings.
