dual graphics card issue - predator 17

hi, i have an acer predator 17, and i've run to this problem where certain apps don't work by themselves, like obs, blender and unity. i found online that i can fix this by manually choosing wich graphics card is handling wich program, usually only works with the intel one (power saving), but it's actually quite annoying to have to manually find each app that needs this to work,  so i'm asking if someone has figured out a solution that isn't just doing the thing i was doing.

also, would like to add that using the global settings from nvidia control panel to set the preferred graphics processor doesn't seem to work for me

Nope, afraid thats the way to do it It should work with either graphics card though
