I have 2 aspire 5 laptops. replaced batteries on both laptops. both do not switch on without power. Tried the 15 sec battery button - nothing tried the power button for 30 sec - nothing. when powering up with power batteries are @ 100 % as soon as i remove power instant off. installed ssd drive with new windows hoping its the battery driver guess what instant off. Is acer such a bad quality laptop ? I never had this issue before during my 30 years in the trade.

Open the elevated command prompt on both laptops.  Enter 'powercfg /batteryreport'. Then return to the desktop. Open file explorer. Then search for' battery-report.html' in the c:\windows\system32\ sub-folder. Double-click to open it in the browser. Post screenshot of the first part of the report from both new batteries if possible that compares design full 100% charge capacity with remaining full 100% charge capacity. Jack E/NJ

    Hi blokkie,

    Try to do power drain,

    1. Shutdown the unit.
    2. Unplug the cables connected to the unit.
    3. At bottom of the unit there will be a small tiny pin hole with a battery symbol close to it. Take a pin or a paper clip insert into it you feels like pressing a button hold it for 20-30 seconds.
