Optical Drive Doesn't Show Up in BIOS Aspire XC-885

I have an Aspire XC-885 desktop.  The optical drive (came with PC) doesn't show up in the BIOS.  It isn't bootable either, of course.  I've put in boot disks in to the drive and tried booting from.
Please help me get my PC to recognize it.

Open it up and look closely at the wires connecting to the back of the ODD, and to where they then connect to the motherboard. It's easy for a loose connector to make it act like there is no drive installed.

Are you sure that your optical drive and ur pc supports the relevant drivers?
