Aspire AXC-780 M.2 Version?

Hi,
I want to add an M.2 SSD to my AXC-780 2016, but I can't find which type to fit in any documents. The M.2 connector only has a single polarity notch so does that make it a PCI type?
A previous post showed a SATA 3 type, but the connection is different to that suggested. If it is PCI will NVMe be supported?

Any advice appreciated.

Just remembered that the motherboard was replaced on Jul 2017 (due to USB failure).
    New motherboard part no. DB.B5711.001

The Aspire XC-780 models all support SATA 3.0 SSDs in the M.2 slot. There is a chance that an NVMe x2 drive might work, but it's not officially supported. There are only two lanes on that bus, so an NVMe x4 would, at the best, drop to x2 speeds and possibly not work at all. Much safer to go with the SATA.
