I followed this video to see if I can make any optimizations on my laptop and after restarting I don't see any notable differences when I tried it while playing Hollow Knight:

I checked my UEFI settings and the HPET setting is not there, as the person said is a possibility, and if it's not it should be disabled anyway. I do see it in my device manager though.
HPET is supposedly a slower but more reliable clock setting which when used may increase latency.

What are your inputs on enabling HPET?

It's snake oil! All turning it off or on does is change how the processor can keep track of times, so that's why it magically boosts FPS from anywhere from 10 to 200, as the processor can no longer keep track of the seconds as accurately heh

The urban myth picked up steam in 2019 when power states on Intel chips caused issues with the timer, which then caused it to get turned off in the Linux kernel, and on the amd side the engineering sample / early release ryzen chips had hardware bugs which caused the review guides to say if you want to benchmark you must turn it off as a work around , but and have said it's been solved long ago

It could make a interesting Linus tech tips video though :D seems right up his alley to see if it is snake oil or a real tweak :) . At the end of the day though, have a play and decide for yourself, if it feels better off great! :D
