Have a Acer Model#: Aspire X1470 (purchased: 4/10/2012 w/ Windows 10 installed 4 mos. ago.  Previous OS was Windows 7.  No matter how I arrange speakers (I have no microphone) feedback continues to be a problem.  Speakers were purchased at the time the ACER was acquired.  Any suggestions short of buying new set of quality speakers, if that would be the remedy?

With no mic, it can't be feedback. Is there anything plugged into either of the mic jacks?

billsey, thanks for the prompt reply, but the answer is no to your suggestion.  Have also noticed that regardless the electrical outlet the speakers are plugged into the annoying feedback remains.  Any further suggestion(s)?

I'd see about trying a different set of speakers...

Thanks, again, for the help.  Guess I have just been putting off the reality of a new set of speakers.  Any recommendation?

I'm probably not the right one to ask... All my speakers here are either builtin (laptops) or purchased from thrift stores for cheap. :) They sound just as good to me.

Thanks, again, billsey, for the timely response.  Yesterday I moved my two portable speakers - the ones in question - and connected them to my wife's
computer.  Absolutely no feedback whatsoever!  I then reconnected both to my computer and the feedback returned, regardless where I located them.
Puzzling to say the least.  I will continue to experiment with various locations to see which has the least feedback.  No need to replace what continues to be adequate speakers.
