I purchased an Acer Swift SF314-42 -R9YN in September 2020. Even will all sound settings at maximum level, sound volume is too low. I must use an external speaker to get adequate volume. My Samsung cell phone streams at much higher volume. BTW, my other laptop has adequate volume streaming the same content. Will appreciate and tips you can offer.

First, go to Device Manager >Sound video and game controller > High Definition Audio Device (or it could be signified as Realtek) right click on it > Uninstall device and reboot the laptop, this will reinstall your current audio driver to its default settings. If this does not fix your problem then, uninstall the audio driver completely (the same way as instructed above) reboot and reinstall the last Acer audio driver from this link which is the "Audio Driver" the Realtek Version: 6.0.8971.1 dated 020/10/30 which should fix your audio problems.

If this doesn't fix your problems then there could be something wrong with your hardware of the "
Amplifier (which is an integrated stereo Class-D Speaker Amplifier with 2 watt per channel output power) and you will have to send your Acer Swift SF314-42-R9YN to Acer service as your laptop is still under warranty, don't touch it and/or open it or do anything to its hardware as that will void your warranty.

    Hi AlwaysAnne,

    # Try to update the sound driver

    1. Hold windows key and hit letter X.
    2. Choose the device manager option.
    3. Go with the option sound .
    4. Under the title sound .
Realtek HD Audio Driver Manager Download For Windows 10 64-bit
    5. Right click on that option ----> Update all driver under the title sound .
    6. Choose "search automatically".

Check this T/S and post the result.

Thank you StevenGen. I uninstalled then reinstalled (via restart/reboot) the drivers for AMD Audio Device, AMD High Definition Audio Device, and Realtek(R) Audio. (These three devices are all listed under Sound, video and game controllers in Device Manager.) Reinstalling them did not fix the problem. No Change in volume. By the way, the Windows troubleshoot function in Sound cannot detect or fix my problem.  I hate to send the laptop in for service, but may have to. (Not sure how to format / enter my reply to your comment; hope you see that I tried!)

Easwar, Thank you for your answer. Unfortunately, updating the driver(s) did not fix my problem. (I am confused about this platform and not sure how to reply directly to you or StevenGen - where to put my reply. In any case, hope you see this reply and know that I appreciated your effort to help.)
