My ACER Swift 1 SF114-32 series is not charging. I purchased a new charger, thinking that might be the issue - but it has not made any difference.  I can see others have had similar issues, but turning it off and plugging in overnight etc has made no difference. It will only work when plugged in.  Can someone help please?

    Hi LMB1,

    # Power drain,

    1.Unplug the AC power adapter.
    2. Shutdown the unit.
    3. Search for a pinhole on the backside of your laptop, insert a small paperclip in the battery reset pinhole, press and hold it down for 25 seconds. Then release the paperclip and try to turn on the unit and check.
Check this T/S and post the result.

It looks like that the battery has gone bad. try to reinstall the battery drivers from device manager and restart the computer.

There are two states it can get into that present as a bad battery. First if the battery has gotten confused as to it's health and reports to the system that it is bad and second if Windows has gotten confused as to the battery health and decided there is no more charge available.
In the first case you do as Easwar suggests and reset the battery. You should allow it to sit for a while (I typically think of it as a cup of coffee time) and then plug it in long enough to see the full charge indication before turning it back on. That usually gets it running again at least
The second requires a Windows battery calibration. You run on battery until Windows shuts you down due to low power. Then you plug it in and wait for the full battery indication and turn it back on. Repeat a few times and each time though should get Windows closer to reporting valid data.

Hi, I have exactly the same issue in a machine that's 2 months old and in S Mode. I've tried the above, but no success. Any other suggestions please?

If yours is only 2 months old go ahead and open a ticket with Acer support and let them fix it for you.
