Hi,

I am new to Linux and installed Ubuntu on my laptop. Everything works fine except sound. Its loudness is constant and the sound slider does nothing and just mutes the sound when you set the slider to zero. Also, headphones connected to audio jack don't work.
These issues only appear on my laptop. I installed Ubuntu on a slightly older laptop and this issue does not exists. Also, I tried reinstalling Ubuntu and it did not work too.
These issues also happen in other distros that are based on Ubuntu like elementary OS.
Is there any way I can fix these issues?

I posted this on the Linux category as well.

Thanks in advance.

Usually glitches like that are because they haven't yet compiled into the kernel the drivers for your chipset. They will likely get it fixed after a while...
