I'm trying to find a graphics card compatible with an older PC (2009) and also compatible with Directx 11.
I'm being offered a GT1030 but I'm forming the opinion that there might be a problem with an older bios /motherboard and a new graphics card.
My SNID and S/N aren't recognized by support...

Yeah, if your system originally came with Windows Vista or earlier, or it came with Windows 7 before the release of sp1, it certainly is set for a Legacy boot and doesn't have the option to use the newer UEFI boot. Without a UEFI boot environment the newer GPUs won't get initialized, so won't work. The GT1030 is new enough to fall into that category. Check in your BIOS to see if there's support for UEFI. I don't see an Acer G7200 model in my searches, but do find a G720. Is yours the latter? It's also possible it was only released in a locale I don't have access to...

Thanks for replying, I'll check the bios.
I borrowed the machine from a friend who has a new one, but here's the info (I can't find anything about it)
