How to add GPU to veriton

I have a graphics card I'd like to add to my newly acquired desktop but I only see the related bios options greyed out before installing the gpu.   Once the gpu is inserted, power cords attached to it and rebooted I don't get any response on any monitor (GPU or integrated) on any of the ports, HDMI, DVI or VGA.

I just pulled the gpu from another machine so i know it's working but I'm not sure if there's a required bios update or something else I need to be doing prior to GPU insertion.

Am I missing something obvious?    Is there another way to prioritize the PCIe card over the integrated?

Which Acer Veriton desktop model do you  have? Also what GPU card are you trying to install? As GPU's functionality is governed by the PS (power supply), I don't know what Veriton model you have as there are allot of models that have different PS supplies e.g. the Veriton X6630G has an OEM PS of 220W.100-127/200-240V (part #'s: DC.22018.002 or the DC.2201B.002) which is a very low PS that only accommodates certain GPU cards! Check your PS and then check your GPU's suggested PS requirement and if they don't coincide and the PS is too low then change the PS.
