ACER XC HDMI CORE i5. English UK - I use Quark Xpress and find that I have to press the 'Fn' key along with the F1-F12 keys to get it to work - is there any way of preventing this I used to be able to just press F5 or F7 but now have to press the Fn key at the same time

My TC-895-UA92 Small Keyboard seems to need the Fn key also with the F12 and F10. I haven't tested others as swapped to a bigger keyboard from an older backup unit. The newer one is a pain to get use too anyhow,. Good Luck0

The keyboard is designed that way. If the keyboard has the Fn key, then you need to press it and then one of the F1 to F12 keys for the function to take place.
Simple solution ! Just change to a generic keyboard. I'd received a defective Acer keyboard with my PC, didn't bother to return the PC just because of a bad keyboard. Just use a $1 generic keyboard and then everything is fine.0 -
Some models allow you to swap the media and function keys in the BIOS. My Spin 5 has that option, so mine are F keys by default.
