Acer Spin CP713 usbc connecting to external projector

I am having trouble with connecting my spin(chromebook) to external projector. i was using a dongle but the connection would freeze or not identify the connection sometimes. I switch to a usbc docking station that also provides charging it works some time but now it freezes also and then looks like its connected and charging but is not . chromebook then dies from low battery . i have to reboot computer to get connection port usbc to reset. I am not sure if this is a hardware issue or a chrome Os issue , does anybody haver an ideas thanks

It's actually more likely to be an issue with the dock's firmware. Check to see if they have updates, though you might have to temporarily connect it to a Windows system to update it's firmware.
