I have an Acer Nitro AN515-55 and I want to connect and eGPU to it. The laptop does not have a Thunderbolt 3 port so is there any way other than using a EXP GDC?

Fraid not, eGPU's need to be connected to PCI lanes to work. When you say EXP GDC do you mean an express card one (which you dont normally see anymore) or a m2 size one? The m2 ones may work, but nvidia has a habit of blacklisting them for no good reason for time to time so it may be flakey
