It's OK, the motherboard is same regardless of the graphics card in your model, so it will work without any issues.

Hey, I have another question. I installed the ssd and ran userbenchmark. The result comes as performing as expected(about 50-55th percentile). Is this ok or should i be some 90 percentile and above because my cpu and gpu consistently yield 90+ percentiles.

    Hi,
You have similar score to another user's reading, so it's the maximum you can achieve for the hardware in your laptop, you can increase the memory to 16GB by installing another 8GB module with same specs as your current module.

No, I was talking about overall performance of your system, did you install Samsung 970 or Kingston SSD? I can see the benchmark results for Kingston SSD only in your link.

No problem, yes, you can not improve anything in there, the score looks similar to other users' laptops.

So currently its at 56th percentile, in the future the ssd wont degrade to some 10th percentile or something right?

Samsung drives are renowned for reliability and performance, so I think you will be fine for few years to come but I can not guarantee that it won't fail, all I can say is that it's a reliable brand but unable to predict anything beyond that.

  • Yes, it will work. However, I suggest that you first check the bios version, as version 1.19 improves the performance of ssd nvme.

It says my bios version is V1.26. So greater than 1.19 means I should be getting the better performance right?
  • Yes my friend.

I'm writing this incase anyone reads it. While all NVMe Gen 3(x4) drives are compatible with this laptop. I suggest users to skip Samsung for this laptop, or specifically skip those NVMe drives that run very hot. Samsung nvme ssds are notorious for running very hot during operation. This laptop doesn't have any heatsink for NVMe drive. I tried installing aftermarket heatsink but doesn't fit due to lack of clearance. My old nvme ssd Corsair MP510 got corrupted due to overheating during gaming sessions. Now I'm using WD SN570. I bought this specifically after doing a lot of research. It runs cool and the max temp it hits is around 65'C during long hours of gaming.

My old drive MP510 used to hit 80'C and I suspect Samsung drives will hit too in this laptop's chassis.
