How to buy ram for a515 44 r8rh? 8GB Dual channel...

Hi, I want to buy 8gb of ram so i can upgrade to dual channel. Please help me get the best module!

Here the specs of my system already taken from

1. ( task manager>memory) says speed is 2667mhz

2. (cpu Z> memory) says CAS latency ( CL): 20.0 Clocks and is DDR4.

Questions,

A. What CL do I look for?

B. What brand works well with Hynix HMAA1GS6CMR6N-VK 1x8GB. I remember different brands worked better with each other.

C. Confirm I need a module with DDR4 2667mhz ( or is it 2666mhz??)

Yes, you don't need to do anything, just install and they will work.

A) the exact same as what you have got with the jedec timings ,  the entire set of numbers should match

B ) general oomph is that try to get sticks which match controllers and chips, so if it has Sammy ram chips, a brand with Sammy ram chips. You can mix the chips or brand but the closer they are the better and more likely it is to work. The easiest way of doing this is picking up one of the exact same type

C) they are the same, bit if marketing Vs standard I think, 2666 runs at 2666.66 which in effect is 2667

Where to find these numbers? I saw most RAM modules just advertise a CL number? is it the other numbers below cas latancy on cpuz?

The 8GB is soldered to mobo so i dont think ill be able to find a match. how can i find out what chips it has?

Im finding it hard to see what manufacturers work best for my soldered hynix 8gb.

I want best possible module as need max performace as gaming.

Hi,
You can use any brand of 2666MHz DDR4 PC4-21300 module but avoid any modules with XMP profiles(eg: Kingston HyperX, Corsair etc) because you need to install modules with JEDEC profiles.

@brummyfan2 Okay, but what about CL? Leostat told me to match it so 20 to 20 but your options were 19 CL. What should i get, cant find any 20 CL. Thats what cpuz say my CL is....

Heres my CPUz screen shots showing my timmings, do i try to match timmings yes?

Also I cant get my jedec info in SPD ( not sure what is ) when look for in cpuz. Why is this? is it because its soldered?

So ram generally has many timings rather than just the one, so this model has 8GB of soldered and one empty ram slot which is why the SPD tab is empty. If If you buy faster ram , it will usually run at the speed of the slower

You can use memory module with CL value of 19, for example my modules have CL=19 but they can go up to CL=20.

As brummy says CL is the latency to access the memory, so the 19 is fast but will slow down to 20ns to match.

Item I found is :CAS Latency: 19 (19-19-19)

but my timmings are (correct me if im wrong but isnt it accord to cpuz 19 - 19 -19 43)?

For the first two its single vs dual rank, there is little differnce between them, in theory all three will work

because the other one you have ordered has base clock speed of 2133MHz and may start your system with 2133MHz.
If you can change the order please do so.

I think thats just a bad amazon page layout, the part is rated for 2666 ( https://docs.rs-online.com/3560/0900766b81641252.pdf ) The older CT8G4SFS8213 is 2133 the CT8G4SFS8266 is 2666:)

edit:I noticed the one brummyfan listed said is a 2666 MT/s variant even though it saying 3200 MT/s.

No differnce there was a myth that single rank is much better but its about the same
