Hi,

I have received a new aspire 5 with R5 4500u cpu and am quite happy so far. Cheers Acer!
One thing I used a lot on my Nitro 5 was Nitrosense. So, are are there any programs I can download that gives me fan rpm and controls?
Also want CPU and iGPU temps and loads.
I plan on some light gaming so will need something...

Thank You!

Why do you think you need something to control fan speeds? Do you know for sure it is overheating? Normal temperatures under very high gaming loads are anything less than about 94*C for newer laptops and CPU/GPUs.

Because I like control over my Laptop and plan to push it hard when gaming. Simple.

I havent tested it yet but I think its NOT overheating. I just like to set the fans to MAX mannually to get best performance from cooling system under load like recommended. TBH 94C is within manufacturer range but for me thats too hot.

What is the full A5 model number? For example "A515-55"? Jack E/NJ

You can try to install nitrosense using the suggestion posted in this thread. Some have reported success, some not. You can also try speedfan freeware if the nitrosense refuses to install on your particular model. Jack E/NJ

Try booting from the USB Win10 installation stick advanced options. Go to the X : \ command prompt and try to rename the files. If you're still unable to rename the files, try setting and saving a BIOS supervisor password. Then reenter the BIOS with the password and disable secure boot. Then try to rename it again from the USB X : \ command prompt.

Yes, boot from a bootable USB Win10 installation thumb drive. Choose the advanced options to get to the X : \ command prompt. From there you should be able change the name of the files on the C ;: \ drive. Do you know how to use the command prompt to change filenames and drives, etc? Jack E/NJ
