  • In this case, I advise you to send the computer to a technician who knows how to re-record the bios.

I see. The computer started acting up after BIOS update.

This is a bit far fetched, but what GPU do you have? I've come across many cases on Reddit and MSI forum when suddenly people get no signal because of a "hand-shake" issue. Usually this happens after BIOS update - before all was working well and suddenly nothing.

I'm not sure if this forum allows direct links, so Google "NVIDIA GRAPHICS FIRMWARE UPDATE TOOL FOR DISPLAYPORT 1.3 AND 1.4 DISPLAYS".

If your GPU is one of the listed below, I'd take the card out, visit a friend and try updating the firmware.

    NVIDIA TITAN Series:

TITAN X (Maxwell), TITAN X (Pascal), TITAN XP

    GeForce 10 Series:
    GeForce GT 1030, GeForce GTX 1050, GTX 1050Ti, GTX 1060, GTX 1070, GTX 1070Ti, GTX 1080, GTX 1080Ti

    GeForce 900 Series:
    GeForce GTX 950, GTX 950Ti, GTX 960, GTX 970, GTX 980, GTX 980Ti

    GeForce 700 Series:
    GeForce GTX 745, GTX 750, GTX 750Ti

Idk man, I talked to a few technicians and also the Acer service center over here, they had no clue about that, so I figured I'd have to do it myself.

Currently rocking 1080TIs in sli. So I need to take out both GPUs and update the graphics firmware?

Since your PC is not in working order, I'm afraid that is what you have to do. I did not have this problem with my 1080 Ti, but I updated FW just in case.

I'm not sure this will fix your problem, but it has helped many. Good luck!

One thing came to my mind that you could try before doing anything else.

Does your CPU have an integrated GPU in it? If it does, try plugging your monitor directly on the HDMI/DP connector on the mobo itself.

I am running on a core i9 7900x and sadly it doesn't have an integrated GPU. So I guess, I'll try updating the firmware

ziKit, firstly, what is the current BIOS version you have on your P09-900? Is it the last Acer P09-900 BIOS version R01-B2 dated 2020/03/02? As you have been advised above, your BIOS chip has to be reprogramed and/or replaced, because, if you have taken the CMOS battery out and have switched the SPIROM_SW (Dual BIOS switch) and its still not working, means that your BIOS is corrupted, as taking the CMOS battery out should  reset the BIOS to work to its default. See this Acer Community article on an Acer Predator Orion 9000 that has a detailed diagram and components description of a Orion 9000 mobo v1.1 (if this is the mobo of your P09-900?) look here "Acer Predator Orion 9000 - wo sind die M.2. Slots? — Acer Community".

My advice and if you haven't got any experience in programing and/or changing BIOS chips 'don't touch your computer' and don't try to reflash/program your BIOS, take it or send it to your local Acer Service department as they have the expertise and all parts to rectify your problem or take it to an experienced technician that specialises in BIOS chip reprograming/replacing only!

Try to get advice from Xeltek "Ask Us Now" and/or look under their "Distributors" section for an Xeltek in your area and if they program BIOS chips or they know of any reputable programmers that they can recommend to you? Btw, Xeltek is a global leader in developing wide range of device programming tools dedicated to online/offline IC programming for chips such as NAND Flash memories, NOR Flash memories, microcontrollers, EPROM, EEPROM, PLD and other programmable devices.

@StevenGen Is it possible that the acer care center has updated the bios from version R01-AX to version R01-BX?

A quick update: I finally found a guy after lots of searching who actually knows how to re-record BIOS. I sent my PC to him. He tried re-recording but he said that the BIOS is being "Flashed successfully but isn't being saved in the IC" I have no clue what that's supposed to mean but in short the IC for BIOS is fried. So he is finding a new IC for my Mobo and will record BIOS on the new IC and install it on my motherboard. Hopefully he finds a new IC and my motherboard works again, otherwise I guess a new mobo would be my last option. Thank you so much to everyone who helped me out here.
I will drop another update once my PC starts working and will let you all know what fixed it, in case someone else ever has the same problem.
  • What version of the bios is he trying to save? R01-AX or R01-BX? Remember that these versions of the bios are for different motherboards. Is he also trying to save the same version of the bios, in the backup bios?

I'm yet to ask which version, but the R01-B2 version is visible under the BIOS drivers when I search for drivers using my SNID, so it is compatible with my mobo too, right? Could it still be a problem?
And I'm not sure if he did anything to my backup BIOS yet, I'll have to talk to him about it.

The answer is NO, as it will depend on the main board revision and model.

So are you suggesting I should ask him to try to flash R01-A4 version once?
  • The ideal would be to check which version of the bios was installed. Do you remember what was the previous version of the bios?

Okay, so he tried flashing all the versions of BIOS on the IC and still no luck. And some other part called a MOSFET or something is also to be replaced as per him. And my luck couldn't be shittier, due to some importing issues and stuff, the ICs required aren't easily available. He is still looking for the IC and no updates on it.
I'll give another update later on so as to what happened.

Just to say: I have a Predator PO9-900 (i9-7900X), and my motoherboard was shipped with R01-A1 bios. I have updated my PC regularly with every single BIOS out in the Acer support page, since a year ago I'm running with R01-B2 without a single issue.

Not yet, still looking for replacement parts. I'm getting the BIOS IC now, but not the MOSFET. Still looking for it.
