My SF314-55G won’t start Windows. Shows “no bootable device”

I first noticed issues with no bootable device because my laptop would crash randomly every once in a while and show this screen “no bootable device” about 2 months ago. A simple reboot would fix the problem and windows would load back up no problem. More recently in the last week, I was getting blue screen errors with codes like KERNAL_DATA_INPAGE_ERROR and WHEA_UNCORRECTABLE_ERROR and I thought that maybe it was a driver issue. I created a system image back up to an external drive just in case anything bad was going to happen.

Now my laptop won’t start up windows at all and just goes straight to the “no bootable device” screen.
I went into BIOS to check the boot priority order and nothing appears. Boot mode is only UEFI, I can’t change it or secure boot. I setup the defaults just in case and also checked system time and still no fix. My BIOS version is V1.07. F 12 Boot menu also won’t come up before the “no bootable device” screen.

One thing that caught my eye is that the SATA mode is RST with Optane for some reason. My system has a Kingston SSD and when I used to check bios when the system was “fine” (but would still crash every now and then) it was in RAID0 (I don’t know why). I tried switching SATA to AHCI and nothing.

This device is less than a year old so if the SSD has failed, is it under warranty?

try a bios default. or a full factory reset. Looks like the ssd is gone bad. try to contact acer when its under warranty and fix it.

First WowzaG, if your BIOS is corrupted try to take the CMOS battery out and then replace it to reset BIOS, then boot your laptop. See if that resets the boot? Also and once yor BIOS is reset, go to this extensive guide of ‘What does it mean by "no bootable device"?’ that explains all about ‘no bootable device’ and learn what it means and follow their guides, which will fix your problem. Good luck

    Hi WowzaG

    # Try to get the BIOS page.
    1. Turn OFF the unit.
    2. Press and hold the F2 key and turn on the unit.
    3. You will be in setup utility page.
    4. Once you got the screen release the F2 key.
    5. Tap on F9 key and hit enter key without changing the option.
    6. Tap on F10 key and hit enter key without changing the option.
    7. Your unit will restart by itself.

Check this T/S and post the result.
