    Hi,

I know it is almost 3 years now since my post but I still cannot access the hard disk.  I have not used this laptop since 2018 but now I need it for some small project.  But there is no space if I cannot access the hard disk.

@freaklip13 - tried what you said and it still does not show up.

    Any help is most appreciated.

    Thanks and regards

Are you referring to the hard disk in the keyboard dock?
Is the keyboard and mouse on the keyboard dock working fine when the tablet is docked?
Yes, everything else works fine.  Just cannot see the hard disk at all.

My guess is the HDD in the keyboard has failed. You can pull it out and use an external USB case to verify that. If it has failed, just pick up and inexpensive SSD to replace it. The SSD will be much more robust since it has no moving parts.

How do I pull it out?

So there are something like 11 screws holding the case halves together. You remove those and then use a pry tool or credit card to split them. Start at the upper right corner and work your way down the right side, across the bottom and then up the left side. Once they are apart the HDD access is obvious. It's a normal 2.5" drive and you can replace it with either another HDD or a SSD. The SSD will be more robust and quite a bit faster...

    Thanks @billsey.

I have actually just sent the tablet to a local Acer Service Center here in Thailand yesterday.  Hope they could do something about it.  If not, will take your recommendation and get a SSD for it.

    Thanks and regards.
