Acer Spin 3 laptop SP314-53, SP Windows 10. Intel Graphic card.

Problem: External monitors do not display when connected to HDMI port. Monitor shows up in display settings and identifies the correct model of monitor (Dell monitors, tried with two different monitors and same result), but the monitor does not recognize the signal from the HDMI port. Tried updating all drivers but WIndows 10 says all drivers are the latest.

In Device Manager, the driver for monitor is listed as Generic PnP monitor and is dated 2006. When I try to update that one, it also says I have the latest driver.

It doesn't seem like this is a hardware problem since Windows identifies whichever monitor I connect to it.

Does it show it in the display settings (start -> display), or does it work if youhit Ctrl+p?

Yes, it shows in the display settings. Windows correctly identifies the type of monitor connected, just that the monitor does not display the screen.
    Isn't Ctrl+P to print?

Yeah, the Windows-P setting should be on Extend or Duplicate for the monitor to actually display anything.

Tried all of that already. Please note that I had been using an external monitor for over a year then it suddently stopped working.

Not sure if it was a Windows update that caused the issue.

I think it is related to the driver but I just can't figure it out.

Hello. Did you ever figure this out? I’m having the same issue with my daughter’s Spin 3 laptop.

    Thanks.
