Hey guys!

I'm fixing and restarting Acer TravelMate 4101LMi  and one thing bugs me - the hardware that was there and the input are just not known to me. I'm a bit of younger generations and i just don't know how i can insert a new ssd which has a SATA input. I thought that USB to SATA adapter can help me, but it says in the windows 7 install that i can't do anything with that disk and partitions because the laptop doesn't recognize it as the hard drive. So, i guess there is a similar thing from this kind of hard disk input to sata? I tried to find but i just can't find the name of the input (or not sure how to call it) of this old hard disk. Thanks in advance!

Chad

That is an IDE disk drive, they were common before the SATAs came into existence. You won't be able to plug a SATA drive in, both the because the connections are obviously different, but the adapters that have been made over the years are too big to fit along with the HDD itself. If the drive is bad you might be able to find a replacement on the secondary market, but it'll be a tough call since the system is so old.
