I have read these forums and watched numerous Youtube videos to resolve this but cannot. Nitro 515-54 728C

My Nitro 5 (bought new in August 2020) suddenly booted with a "No bootable device" error.  Here is everything I've tried.

Bios v1.29:
  • F12 Boot menu enabled
  • Fast boot disabled
  • Boot mode: UEFI (there is no option for Legacy)
  • Secure boot disabled
  • My NVME HDD is detected.
Still get same error.

Opened it up, removed HDD and reinserted. Did same with the RAM. Still get the same error.

I've tried creating two bootable USB drives booting with the USB in both instances:
  1. Using Windows 10 media installation.
  2. Using Rufus and an ISO image

In the BIOS settings I set the USB drive to start up. NOTE: There are no other options in the boot order. If there's no USB drive attached, the boot order is blank.

Restarting the computer with the USB drive in and it sits at the Acer logo with a spinner spinning non-stop. Never getting past this screen even after a half hour.  Tried restarting and tapping F12, same thing.  Both options above don't matter. The laptop will not boot from the USB drive.

At this point, I don't know what to do.  Nothing I've tried is working. If it would just boot from the USB drive I could try installing Windows 10 again to see if the hard drive is corrupt. I would buy a new Hard drive but if I can't get the laptop to boot from a USB drive, it does me no good.

Anything else I can try???

Look at this guide "How to Install Windows 10 on a UEFI Computeras that is where your problemis is, as you have done an insallation USB in MBR/Legacy mode and that is why it wont boot into it, also and before you do a clean install of Win-10, try the How to boot to the Troubleshoot menu on Windows 10 and try to fix your current Win-10 problems, do all that as that will fix your problems.

Used Rufus to create a GPT formatted USB drive. The laptop still would not boot from it. Just sits on the acer logo spinning. I also could not get the troubleshoot menu to come up using any of the suggestions in that article.

There must be something wrong with your BIOS. Have you tried to set all BIOS settings to default at “Exit” Load setup defaults? Also, try to take the CMOS battery out for 30min (its under the battery, so you will have to take the battery out, see caption) and refit it and reboot the laptop, see if that resets the BIOS to default, as your BIOS might be corrupted.

Tried both of those things and still no luck. I even tried using a different USB stick and it still won't boot from the stick. It gets stuck on a spinning circle.

Am I setting up Rufus correctly?  Here's rufus settings and the contents of the USB drive:

Followed that guide by using Rufus to create a bootable USB drive with GPT format instead of MBR. The laptop still will not boot from it  just sits on acer logo spinning.

I also could not get it to boot to the troubleshooting menu using any of the suggestions in that article.

    Hi Eldiablo829,

    # Try to get the BIOS page.
    1. Press and hold the F2 key and turn on the unit.
    2. You will be in setup utility page.
    3. Once you got the screen release the F2 key.
    4. Tap on F9 key and hit enter key without changing the option.
    5. Tap on F10 key and hit enter key without changing the option.
    6. Your unit will restart by itself.

If it not resolved. It may be a hardware issue please contact acer support,
