Hi
Can anyone PLEASE help me with the following problem:
I have an Acer XB3 27" 144Hz 4K monitor (Serial Number:
XXXX).
I am unable to set the refresh rate above 120Hz at 4K resolution which is very frustrating as I spent £800 on this piece of hardware specifically so I could play at 144Hz in 4K.
What I have done so far:
- Made sure '144Hz at 4k' mode is set to 'ON' in the monitor settings.
- Made sure I am using the correct type of DisplayPort cable (DP 1.4 with DSR 1.2) - I have tried two different versions in case one was faulty
- Tried every different possible combination of sockets in my GPU (RTX 3080) with sockets in my monitor
- Tried plugging in 2 DP cables at once - This just turns the screen black
- Tried to set a custom resolution in NVIDIA settings - The 'Customize' button is greyed out even with DSR turned off in the 3D settings
- Tried to set a custom resolution using Custom Resolution Utility by ToastyX - This will not allow anything above 60Hz for some reason
- Checked on testufo.com what my actual refresh rate is and it is 120Hz
- Emailed Acer for support ... they took two weeks to answer and told me to try a different cable which I had already done
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you
