Hi everyone,
I bought on a local store an acer nitro 5 with GTX 1050 and CPU intel i5 8300h. While gaming (tried with Valorant, Monster hunter world and heroes of the storm) i reach, right after 5 min I am in game, around 98° on CPU.
Went back to the store, the pc had 2 problems: Mouse trackpad was broken and the CPU temperature was too high. They sent back to acer and they only fixed the trackpad. CPU temp problem still there.
Went back to the store a second time, they suggested me to use MSI Afterburner and downclock. Then I decided to reach out a
computer technician which did a few tests on the pc and told me it was not normal (and MSI afterburner was totally useless since it targets only GPU), I still have all the file he made.
Went back to the store for the third time, they sent to acer another time. After another month, PC came back and they just cleaned up the fans, uptated Bios and wrote that the pc is fine.
The problem is not fixed, I still have very high temp while gaming. Some more info: I use a coolpad, coolbost is active, nitro sense set on high performance and max fan speed (while gaming).
The question is: is that temperature normal? Is there a risk to damage component? Should I ask for a full refund ?
Thanks in advance
