Screen Coming Apart

I've had my computer for about a year, and I use a lot of caution not to drop or damage it. Yesterday, with no warning, the left hinge on the computer stopped working properly and pulled the screen apart. It happens whenever I open or close it, and I'm having a harder and harder time putting it back together. Apparently, this is a common issue. It's very inconvenient, and I don't want to have to pay to get it fixed. Can I fix it on my own, or is it a lost cause?

If you are out of warranty then you can fix it yourself, or have a technician do it for you. Easiest is to replace the hinge and the case where the mount has broken, cheapest is to repair the hinge and either epoxy it back in or build up the broken mounts with something like epoxy or JB Weld to get it solid again.
