Connect to printer via Wi-Fi
Hi. With Google cloud print now discontinued, I'm unable to print from my Chromebook. I have a Canon Pixma 2900 printer that is connected to the same Wi-Fi network as my Chromebook. I know it works because I can print from my phone using Wi-Fi. I can also save to Google Drive on my Chromebook and print that way, but there must be a way to connect directly and save that extra step. My Chromebook does not "see" the printer. I followed the steps to add it manually using the IP address, but it still doesn't see it. It asks me for the printer PPD and will not activate the "add" button without that info. I think PPD is a windows driver, as far as I can tell. I'm using an ancient Acer ZHN Chromebook running version 76 and change (64 bit) which according to the device is the most updated version available. Thanks in advance for any suggestions you may have! ~ Cera
