Alpha Switch 12, frequent crashes in graphics DLL ig9icd32.dll -> driver update not possible?

Hi all,

on our Alpha Switch 12 we observe frequent crashes of an application (linphone) in ig9icd32.dll which don't happen on other windows machines. This DLL is related to the Intel HD 520 graphics driver. There are new versions of this driver available at the Intel website but when trying to install we're not allowed to do this as the currently installed driver is provided be Acer and not by Intel. Unfortunately the Acer driver seems to be a very outdated version from June 2017 while Intel offers version 15.45.5174 from Feb 2021.
Will there ever be a new version of this driver by Acer and when? If not, is it possible to install the Intel driver and how to do this? Is there a big risk this Intel driver won't work properly?

Thanks and best regards,
Johannes

You can go ahead and install the Intel version, at the point it puts up that warning there's a link to continue with the install anyway.

Another way of doing it is this way, go to Device Manager > Display adapters > Intel HD Graphics > right click and Uninstall device completely, then, reboot, the graphics will go to default (don't worry about that) then install the new Intel HD520 graphics for your cpu the  win64_15.45.5174.exe driver, that is the Version: 15.45.34.5174 (Latest) Date: 2/5/2021.
