Nitro 5 Touchpad Issue - Warranty Returns

The touchpad on my new Nitro 5 laptop is slightly loose and requires a return to Acer for repair according to the place I purchased it from. However, I have been told I might need to reinstall my software as a factory reset could be performed. Everything except the touchpad works perfectly fine so a reset is completely unnecessary and would make an already annoying situation for me even worse. If I did return my laptop, what are the chances of it being reset? And why must I accept this possibility when it's clearly a hardware issue?

If you dont have any info required then you can send the unit to acer. you dont have to reset. if required acer will do a reset. Stay cool. just contact the acer support.

Hey thanks for the reply. I know I don't have to do the reset. I'm worried about Acer doing the reset because then I'd have to reinstall and customise everything on my laptop again. I have contacted support and awaiting a reply though. Just thought I'd also ask here if anyone knew the chances of Acer resetting my laptop when I just need the touchpad fixed and nothing else.

I wouldn't bother sending it - mine's just got back after being away for weeks for a loose touchpad fix and it appears worse than when I sent it.
Am really disappointed at the quality control on such a high end (high price!) product.

Am sorry for that. but contact the acer if you still have the issue.

Wow that really sucks. I would hate to send it away to not get the problem fixed AND have to reinstall everything. Acer's return process is so bad. I wish they would just ship me a new touchpad and I could replace it myself.
