Yes, C port will support video. Is there a symbol of a lightning bolt (Thunderbolt 3) next to the USB-C port? Then you can use this port to charge and to transfer a video signal. That means you can connect a monitor. USB-C cables can deliver Ultra-HD 4K video resolution to USB-C and HDMI displays. That's 4 times the resolution of standard high definition.

No im using HDMI, but since i have hackintosh installed so hdmi is not working since its connecting to the DGPU, so ppl are advising to use the type C instead, so want to double check so dont buy new cable in vain.

Are you sure christy? The Helios line doesnt come with thunderbolt, and the manual suggests it doesnt support video (page 76), the 'trident' also suggests its just USB from the image:

    https://global-download.acer.com/GDFiles/Document/User Manual/User Manual_Acer_2.0_A_A.pdf?acerid=637267684682206070&Step1=NOTEBOOK&Step2=PREDATOR&Step3=PREDATOR PH315-53&OS=ALL&LC=en&BC=ACER&SC=EMEA_27

Could you confirm the model of your laptop like PH317-54 :)?    Doh i missed it above! The 53 doesnt support USB-c displayport video, i am supprised the hackingtosh install doesnt support HDMI though :(

You can use a "DisplayLink" adapter to get video out, but i feel i should say the adapters use to be really flakey on osx, they did do a lot of work though and they may work better now, for example https://www.displaylink.com/products/find?cat=3&vid_hdmi=1&usba=1

they work by shutteling the video over standard data, and you can get Docks, USB to whatever adapters or stright up displays :)

I have seen the USB 3 on the unit running 2 monitors. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=112KHkB8OcU&t=33s

There is no HDMI signal coming out the USB C port so this is the only way to go.
