With my chromebook (cb515) in front of me and open for use I have found that the c type power port on the right side will not power on or charge my laptop while the charger is plugged into an extension cord or a surge protector strip. Using the same charger I can plug it into the c type power port on the left side of my laptop and it will power on and also charge the battery. In order to use the right side power port I must plug the charger directly into a wall outlet. Is this by design or a power port malfunction?

Solved my problem, it is not a malfunction of the power port. It is not a charger problem. I replaced the extension cord with a new cord and that solved the charging problem.

Heheh, that's why tech support people always ask first, is the power cord plugged in? :)
