Hi, we just bought this laptop last december 2020. It works pretty well and amazing. But earlier today, I opened it and it works fine... I left for a bit, and when I came back, the screen only displays black. The keyboard is lighting and I already tried holding fn and pressing f1 to f12 thought I have clicked something, but still it didnt work. I have restart it already but still it doesnt work. I am not that techy, is there anyone who can help me with this? Please. I'm gonna try fixing it before telling i lt to my mom.  :#

I have the same issue - after 2 days closed lid (sleep) left it 3 hours and black screen / would not start. Held start 30sec
    waited - tried again
In the end had to resort to battery reset
Why does this happen and  how to avoid it happening again
    very disappointed

Can you guys connect an external monitor and see if it shows anything on external display?

    Hi Chasboniel,

    # Power drain,
At bottom of the laptop there will be tiny pin hole with battery symbol close to it. Insert pin or paper clip into that hole press and hold it for 30-40 seconds.

Check this T/S and post the result.

    Hi nbs2021,

    Try to do power drain,

    1. Shutdown the unit.
    2. Unplug the cables connected to the unit.
    3. At bottom of the unit there will be a small tiny pin hole with a battery symbol close to it. Take a pin or a paper clip insert into it you feels like pressing a button hold it for 20-30 seconds.

Try the full procedure. Disconnect everything including the power then press and hold the button under that pinhole for 30 seconds. Release the button and wait 15-30 minutes then plug only the charge back in. Wait for the indicator to show a full charge, then try again to turn it on. If that didn't do it then the problem is likely not a confused battery.
The next step is to try and determine if the computer itself is working and it's only the display that has failed. For that the easiest way is to connect an external monitor to the laptop and turning it on. When it seem to have booted if there's nothing displaying on the external monitor try pressing Windows-P, then a cursor down then enter. Do that four times and see if the display ever comes up on the external monitor. If it does come up then we are looking at a problem with the laptop display.
If the external monitor never comes up at all the problem is more likely an issue with the motherboard, memory or drive.

I Tried the full procedure. but the screen still is black. it's completely dark. I think the  backlight of the screen is not working. the backlight of keyboard is on,but I can't ajust zhe backlight level through hotkey F8.  In fact this issue is not the first time occurred, I fixed it by press the pinhole in last time(one day ago). Any other suggestion?

If the issue is the backlight for the display then you should be able to shine a flashlight on the screen at an angle and see faint images of what should be displayed. If you can't see anything at all then you will have to go through the rest of the diagnostics.
