Has this common problem been fixed? Acer Nitro 5 laptop (An51-517) won't turn on.

Hi. I own an Acer nitro 5 laptop (An51-517). I've owned it for about 9 months and it's always had problems with powering on after shutting down. I thought the issue was minor cause I was able to hold the power button for a long period of time and then wait a minute and try again and it would usually start up. Sometimes it would take multiple attempts but it would usually start up eventually. The problem seemed to happen more often and take longer to get started, but now I can't start the laptop for days after I've shut it down. Research has found this to be a very common problem, likely due to a design flaw with having the power button built into the keyboard. I'm hoping there's a workaround out there but I can't find anything. I'm sure acer will replace the laptop but from what I've found, the problem will happen again, so I'd rather implement a workaround to avoid this issue all together.

I've tried everything I've found in support forums etc. The keyboard is intact and connected to the MB. The bios is updated and the CMOS battery is brand new. I've disconnected the battery for days and reconnected. I've drained the battery completely and then fully charged it. All of this and nothing has changed. The problem persists and only has become more frequent. The odd thing is, it still turns on sporadically and there's nothing consistent about why it turns on and why it doesn't. Today it's not turning on, I'll try every trick that's been mentioned and nothing. But tomorrow or the next day, it'll turn on after the first try.

I hope someone has come up with a solution for a work around. Like an external power button or something.

So I sent the laptop in for repair, they said the keyboard was repaired and sent it back. It still won't turn on. This is a nightmare. I wish I was rich so I could initiate a class action lawsuit. I feel like I was taken advantage of and robbed of $700. Haven't even had this laptop 1 year. I am beside myself.

Try to update the battery driver.
