Hi guys and dolls
We have some new acer P215 travelmates. Sadly we cant find a way to image them. Fails everytime. Seems like the partition isnt writeable.
If I try a usb with with a win 10 iso on it fails at the same point.
Any ideas.
Regards

Whats the drive mode in? At what point does it fail when you boot the ISO?

It may be that they are in intel Optain mode and need swapping to AHCI, the option is hidden at first, you need to use windows to boot into the bios (maybe a myth?) and then hit control+s on the main tab to enable the Sata mode settings

Hi there, Its UEFI only allowed no legacy. The image starts and allows that but as soon as the SCCM task sequence gets to the format of the partition it fails. I cant see AHCI at all. Ctrl & S doesn't do anything on this one. Many thanks. Delbow

A few people have had a hard time getting into the menu, needing a couple of reboots, someone even mentioned it only worked when they went from a reboot in safe mode (blarh UEFI and its smartness)

Boot on the install image and use the Repair mode to get a command prompt. Then use diskpart to look at how the drive is setup currently. No need for AHCI... Why are you trying to redo the OS?

Hi we put a standard image on all our machines.  its windows 10 education. We put our build on including our Office and other apps.

Thats why I thought maybe its the sata mode, if the image has been built with standard AHCI it may explain it, was the ogld image built with the intel rst driver injected, or is it from a standard install?

Makes sense, the imaging should work. If you try it manually what happens when you get to the install screen where you wipe the existing partitions so you can let the install proceed from a blank drive? Does it allow the wipe?

Hi you have to go to Bios/main menu apparently and press ctrl and S and change VMD controller to disabled. Acer support update.
    Cheers guys for help.
