Hello,
I have an Acer aspire a315-42 and Purchased a battery replacement off of eBay when mine started experiencing issues (Not Charging, Blinking lights when plugged in), and the replacement came just moments ago, I inserted it in and plugged the AC in (Also Incase of any confusion I also remembered to connect the cable for the battery to the main board), and nothing happened, No charging lights, it didn't turn on, and the only semblance of activity was a brief split second Flash of the Blue power indicator when I was tapping the power button out of impatience

Any help towards getting my system up and running would be massively appreciated

The new battery may have been sitting around on a shelf and may be below a critical 5% charge level. Be more patient. Plug the charger back in but don't immediately try to turn the machine on. Instead let the battery try to charge for at least 4 hours, preferrably overnight. After this time the battery charge LED should be a steady orange or steady blue. Wait till it turns steady blue. Then try to turn the laptop on again. Jack E/NJ

OK. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you that you didn't get a lemon instead of a new battery.  :) Jack E/NJ

Unfortunately that didn't seem to do anything, I'm not even getting a Orange Charging indication light, that's a real shame, any next steps I could take?

Unplug the charger. Look for a reset pinhole on the bottom and press a paperclip into the hole for about 60 seconds while at the same time pressing and holding the power button. Then plug the charger back in. But don't try to turn it on till the battery charge LED turns from steady orange to steady blue. If it still blinks instead of steady orange or  blue, do NOT try to turn it on. Jack E/NJ
