So after 8 hours of work, I finally got my computer to recognise my headset. I fixed a problem with the drivers.

But now I notice that Realtek Audio Console has a bug.

Realtek Audio Console has a bug in its prompt notification window.

When I plug in my headset in my laptop this prompt notification window appears.

If I choose headset or headphone then click OK, then my laptop doesn't detect my headset.

However if I instead click the X to exit the window, my computer does detect my headset. It will also detect it if I open Realtek Audio Console and change the Connector Retasking Analog setting under Device Advanced Settings.

So it looks like an option chosen in one location fails to work, but then will work if chosen in a different location.

Can this bug be fixed?

Sorry. Not likely by any of us users here. We're not ACER employees, contractors or consultants who can arrange bug-fixing of Realtek software or drivers installed on ACER machines especially for detection of externally wired audio devices since there are literally hundreds of them from a dozen different manufacturers.   Jack E/NJ
