So, I have an Acer aspire 3(A315-41-R18T), recently I found out that one of the RAM slot doesn't work, so my laptop showed no display. So my laptop worked with one 4GB Stick. But I need 8GB, so I decided to buy one 8GB stick, I wanted to know will this fit, https://www.daraz.lk/products/adata-ddr4-8gb-laptop-ram-2666mhz-i106540965-s1014420315.html?spm=a2a0e.searchlist.list.1.47ec2713MropFj&search=1 , I am asking this because my old RAM sticks are 2400Mhz but this one is one 8GB 2666Mhz RAM, ( So 2 differences, capacity and RAM speed). Also Will I lose the dual channel memory advantage?

Yes it should work fine. Your mainboard does not support dual-channel operation. Jack E/NJ

But when both 4GB RAM was working, CPU Z(application), showed it has dual channel.0

That only means the RAM modules are capable of dual channel operation. There is little practical difference for DDR4 modules. Jack E/NJ

Thanks for replying, So will this increase the performance(FPS), since the 8GB stick is 2666Mhz?0

Sorry, no. Your mainboard maximum bus speed between the RAM module and CPU is 1200MHz, so a 2666MHz double data rate module will still only achieve twice 1200MHz mainboard speed or 2400MHz. Jack E/NJ

So at least does my laptop show the same performance? And where does the other 266Mhz go? If there are no use of buying 2666Mhz one, should I just get a 2400Mhz one?0

Only If the 2400MHz module is cheaper than the 2666MHz module. Jack E/NJ

It should be about the same. After you get the new 8GB module, you might want to check it in both sockets again to see if the dead socket might still be alive. Jack E/NJ
