Hi All,

Well the background is that i have a Acer Swift 3 SF314-54-81Q1 and i decided to increase the memroy by adding a 1TB SSD to thr existing 256GB drive. The result is that the 'Intel Rapid Storage' has taken over, A software i didn't even know was installed on my computer!!. So what i have now is my 256GB drive is as normal but this has been combined via RAID with the 1TB drive which is now a recovery drive. In explorer i can only see the 256GB drive.  It has been suggested i take the added 1TB drive out and format it externally but i don't really want to be taking my paltop apart again that for me will be the last resort.
I have been on the 'Intel Chat Forum' and they came up with the following

Our instructions are:

  1. Turn on the computer. When prompted during system startup, press Ctrl + I to enter the option ROM user interface.
  2. Reset all the drives to "Non-Raid"
  3. Then you will need to reinstall the Operating System (OS) as factory settings
  4. This will delete any structure and OS files.

Note: If you cannot access the ROM with the Ctrl + I combination, you also need to check with the OEM for the correct way to access this option; or if the RAID is managed within the BIOS.

Sounds simple enough but what i'm learning quite rapidly is that nothing with Acer is easy the Ctrl-i doesn't work nor does the Ctrl-shift-i work.

Can someone help me?
My dream for Christmas is to get rid of Intel Rapsid Storage and be able to see and use both my drives in Expolrer.

Thanks
Steve
