Linux Mint Debian 4 fresh install on Aspire E1 V5WE2 laptop with disk layout GPT /UEFI Boot mode / Secure Boot enabled / Trusted UEFI file selected in Boot Menu (HDD1/etc/debian/shimx64.efi)
System boots, but at the  login page my user password is not accepted. Password is checked OK (only 3 letters, first letter is upcase + no CapsLock issue, no keyboard layout issue), simply it doesn't accept the password!
In Live USB Boot I created a root password but it's of no use: I cannot enter LMDE 4 even with root + password combo.

What could be the problem? Please help me, I simply cannot believe that LMDE 4 cannot be run on this laptop!

Kind regards,
Lac

well, unless the install has enabled Fn by default and your password uses keys that have an Fn enabled option as well, I'd say post on the MInt site and hopefully they'd be able to help, but just to check, toggle num lock  (Fn) just in case.  This happened to me with a with a linux install a couple of years back, but i cannot remember if it was deb based or not.
