Hi,
I tried to change the broken screen of my laptop and it won't start now. All leds are OFF when I put the charger in, no fans, nothing.
I didn't unplug the battery when I changed the screen and I saw a spark when I plugged it in...(it's dumb I know, it's an internal battery and I was too lazy to open the laptop completely for this....)
does that mean everything's fried?
What Can I try?
thanks

Sorry to say but i think you understand what u did wrong here, so nohopeleftlaptop, IMO, yes everything fried most than likely. Have u check with a multimeter?

Give us more detail(s) as just saying "I changed the screen and I saw a spark when I plugged it in" is pretty ordinary and not specific enough as it depends on where the spark came from? If its from the DC Power Jack Port Socket at the laptop then it could be the plug and cord etc etc give us more details.

Just as a warning to others that attempting any repairs on their laptops and/or any computers and not removing the battery/power source before doing any internal repairs/replacements of parts is "Dangerous and Damaging" and is the worst practice that can ever be adopted and made, also, there are lots of disassembly guides like this one for your AN515-54 and many laptops/desktops if you don’t know what you are doing? As your result will happen. You should have known better (yes I know I'm a Monday 1/4 back) but, what were you thinking?
