Can the acer nitro 5 work without the battery? model AN515-51

Hey all, My acer nitro 5 (model AN515-51) is having some battery issues. Specifically it stops charging at a certain percent then when I turn it off and turn it on the next day its at a completely different percentage (yesterday it was at 90 and now its at 40). I was wondering if this laptop works without the battery plugged in? I know a lot of laptops work without the battery so I'd appreciate it if someone could let me know if this one can work without the battery as well. Thank you.

It could work for low end tasks (not 100% sure though); but when it comes to heavy tasks where the laptop relies for power both from power supply and battery it wouldn't work.
