I just bought an Acer Extensa 15 ex215-52. Its battery life only last 4 hours despite reducing its brightness to 50%, I only use it for web searching and encoding. Is it normal? Should I get its battery warranty or something?

If you've got a non-Microsoft virus scanner like Norton, McAfee, etc running in the background, this can take up a lot of power while surfing. Uninstall it. Most folks only need Windows Defender and Microsoft's Malicious Software Removal tool which are regularly updated with the Windows updates.  Furthermore, your Control Panel power plan should be set to power saver mode instead of balanced or performance mode. This should make a big difference.

Finally, we can take a look at your battery to see how good is still is. Go to the elevated command prompt.  Enter 'powercfg   /batteryreport'. Then return to the desktop. Open file explorer. Then search for' battery-report.html' in the c:\windows\system32\ sub-folder. Double-click to open it in the browser. Post screenshot of the first part of the report if possible that compares design full charge capacity with its remaining full charge capacity. Jack E/NJ
