Windows keep giving me this update

Hewlett-Packard - USB - 1/16/2017 12:00:00 AM - 44.0.3748.1716 update

It is windows issue I guess but if anyone know about this issue or has any kind of workaround to avoid updating it every time.

Please advise

Just to confirm, are these the steps to do so:-
    1. Right click the Start button and select Control Panel.
    2. Make your way to System and Security.
    3. Click System.
    4. Click Advanced system settings from the left sidebar.
    5. Select the Hardware tab.
    6. Press the Device Installation Settings button.
    7. Choose No, and then press the Save Changes button.
    Thanks!

    Yes. That's correct.

Are you on Windows Home or Windows Professional? Mine is windows professional, and I set this via windows policy editor (GPEDIT); hence the greying out of this option for me.

If that helps, you can mark whatever post in this thread helped you resolve your issue so this thread would be marked as closed and maybe if anyone else has the same issue, they'll have a tested solution :-).

I was checking if I still get the HP drivers update and turns out I am still getting those updates after changing the setting.

This is means there could be some other software on your laptop that is triggering this update. Check the software under add/remove programs and try to isolate any such thing. Also check under windows tasks to see if there is any task related to this, and disable that task.
