Charging and using my laptop

I'm concerned about keeping a good battery health in my laptop and it's been three days since I brought my Aspire 3. I'm not sure how to charge it and for my first use I charged to a 100% and ever since I maintain 40-80% rule. But I'm not sure it works. And how long should I expect my laptop to last if I full charged it ?

My Aspire 5 is plugged in almost all the time and it's 2 years old. I discharge the battery completely about once a month, apart from that the laptop is always used plugged in and the battery charge level at 100%.



As you can see it has lost about 1300mWh of its capacity so far - your mileage may vary depending on charge-discharge cycles and the temperatures battery is being subjected to.
