Do I need to get my VG271U replaced?

I bought this monitor in May and I was upgrading from an old 1080p Acer monitor I had. I thought it was great and super bright at the time. I've had it in HDR almost the whole time or else the picture in the monitor would look really grey, but I had thought that was normal and something I could work past since I used the HDR mode anyways, but until I realized its not as bright as it's supposed to be. I bought a second monitor recently (the Acer V277U), though it's a cheaper monitor with a lower refresh rate it the brightness on the new screen is way brighter even though it's advertised to have the same brightness. I'm using the type of cord for both monitors and have switched the cable with each other and nothing haschanged. The older monitor is still just way dimmer. Is there a way to fix this issue or do I just need to send in the monitor?
