We recently bought a new laptop, an Acer Aspire running Windows 10. We've had it since the summer, but lately for some reason, the HostName keeps changing slightly. It started out as a generic name in the format LAPTOP-XXXXX, but frequently modifies that to add a random number on the end, as in "LAPTOP-XXXXX-20" or "LAPTOP-XXXXX-9". I've tried renaming the laptop, but that didn't change the behaviour; it just adds a random number on the end of the new name. Is there a setting somewhere that I need to change to fix the hostname to something constant? It's a bit of a nuisance when I want to assign the device to a particular person for screen-time/downtime monitoring, etc.
